Your Acupuncturist

Dara Barr L.Ac. is a New York State licensed acupuncturist and nationally certified herbalist. She is a Nationally Board Certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as well as a trained Acudetoxification Specialist. Her practice focuses on women’s health issues, stress management, mental and emotional wellness and pain management.

Dara is a graduate of Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York where she earned a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine.  Her clinical training included internships at New York Medical Center’s Hospital for Joint Diseases within the Initiative for Women with Disabilities, Grand Meridian Community Clinic in Chinatown and Lincoln Hospital.  Prior to starting her own private practice of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology, Dara managed several herbal pharmacies throughout New York and a community gardening program at The New York Botanical Garden.  Her clinical practice is built on her compassion for the human spirit, her commitment to providing quality healthcare and her belief that each individual has within themselves the power to heal.
